She is a cellist in the ANU Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. Her musical journey began with the piano at the age of 6, followed by cello at the age of 8 and she later picked up the oboe in high school. Chloe has toured Europe both as part of Camberwell Girls Grammar School’s (CGGS) music tour in 2017, where she featured as a cello soloist playing Tchaikovsky’s Andante Cantabile, as well as with the Melbourne String Ensemble in 2018. At CGGS, Chloe was an Academic & Music scholarship recipient, as well as a House Music Captain (2021) and School Music Captain (2022), providing ongoing support and mentorship to student musicians. Chloe was the principal cellist of numerous orchestras and ensembles at CGGS, including the Combined Schools Orchestra in 2019 and 2022, which was a collaboration with high calibre musicians from neighbouring independent schools. Her string quartet based in Melbourne, Quartet Con Brio, played together for eight years.
Chloe completed her AMusA on cello in 2016, at the age of 12. In 2022, she performed solo at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of VCAA’s Season of Excellence, having achieved a result in the top 2% of Victoria in VCE Music Performance, including scoring full marks on the external recital component. She thoroughly enjoys playing chamber and orchestral music, and attended the Australian Youth Orchestra’s National Music Camp in 2022.
