Damian began teaching at CMT in 2014. He prioritises fundamental concepts over specific repertoire as “understanding how the tools work is much more useful than just being told what to build with them”.
Receiving an Advanced Diploma of Music from CIT in 2014, Damian is long-standing member of Canberra’s professional music scene, working as a guitarist, bassist and singer in cover bands, original music outfits and as an accompanist for improv theatre performance. More recently he has been composing and producing music for the Surrealia podcast. You can hear some of his work here.
Damian’s lessons focus on developing strong technique, and encourage composition and improvisation early on. He encourages students to take a self-directed approach to their lessons, and can cover a broad range of contemporary styles.
Damian currently teaches at our Weston and Belconnen studios.
