Helena began playing the clarinet at the age of 10. She has completed a Bachelor’s Degree with first class Honours in Classical Music Performance at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide, South Australia, majoring on clarinet. While doing so, she studied under the tutelage of Dean Newcomb, principal clarinet of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Helena has recently completed a Masters of Secondary Teaching at the University of Canberra.
Helena is also an experienced saxophone player, having performed on the instrument in a number of settings. She has performed on both clarinet and saxophone in musicals, community wind and symphony orchestras, and chamber ensembles. Helena believes strongly in providing a positive and fun learning experience while encouraging students to improve technically. She enjoys getting to know her students in order to provide the best learning environment for each person. She is excited to help her students achieve their goals with their music.
Helena is currently teaching at our Weston and Belconnen studios.
